Zircon Azul Plata Tequila

Awarded the Silver Medal at The Polished Palate’s Spirit of Mexico 2011 Tasting Competition, Tequila Zircón Azul Plata (or “Silver”) is made from select Agave plants grown with family pride in Arandas, Jalisco. This 100% Agave spirit is aged in white oak barrels and filtered to eliminate the white oak flavor and color.

The nose is ripe pineapple sweet with hints of green and white pepper and the sweetness of the agave with a slight vegetal greenness and spice at the end.  A nicely balanced combination.

The mid-palate is fresh agave, with a hint of spicy nutmeg and a mineral quality.  Zircon Azul Plata finishes lightly dry, smooth with peppery heat and a balance of fresh fruit and spice.  With its complexity and balance, this is a high-quality tequila worth sipping neat or with an ice cube.
